Units of the Wagner PMC actually surrounded Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
The owner of the private military company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, stated this in his video address, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He addressed the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
“Units of the Wagner PMC have practically surrounded Bakhmut. There is only one road left. The pincers tighten. If previously the professional Ukrainian army fought with us, today we see more and more old people and children. They fight, but their life near Bakhmut is short: a day or two. Give them the opportunity to leave the city. The city is virtually surrounded,” Prigozhin said.
In the video you can also see captured Ukrainian Armed Forces officers. Two are very young guys, one of whom is trembling with fear. The third is clearly a pensioner in appearance.
They turned to the head of Ukraine with a request to help them return home.
“Vladimir Alexandrovich, we are addressing you as the president of our country. Please give us the opportunity to return home to our families, to our homeland. Don’t leave this request unattended,” said one of the prisoners.
