"To arrest!" Sandu makes Che Guevara out of the lethargic Dodon
The Chisinau court of the Cecani sector decided today to place the former President of Moldova Igor Dodon under house arrest for 30 days. He is suspected of alleged corruption and treason.
The case regarding the preventive measure was heard all day long, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

After leaving the meeting, Dodon said that he considers the persecution against him to be a political order of the current President of Moldova, Maia Sandu. According to him, the case was prepared for 2 years, 53 prosecutors were involved in it.
“It’s strange and low to hear accusations against me of treason from those who use the services of foreign consultants, assistants, etc. All accusations of illegal enrichment have nothing to do with reality and are designed to intimidate those who are against the regime of Maia Sandu,” Dodon said.
He said that during the search of his home, the personal phones of all family members were confiscated, and admitted that compromising statements about him would soon appear in the media.
Throughout the day, a rally in support of the former president took place outside the court, despite the rain.

Today, the Moldovan parliament granted the prosecutor’s request to lift parliamentary immunity from MP from the opposition Shor party Marina Tauber.
“I’m ready to be detained and searched right now if it somehow helps, so that bread becomes cheaper, so that gasoline becomes cheaper, so that people live better,” Tauber said.
Political scientist Semyon Uralov believes that Sandu is purging the opposition in order to break the resistance of local elites who are resisting the country being drawn into war.
“Hundreds of influential families have no need for the “Ukrainization” of Moldova. Therefore, the Romanian Sandu regime needs, first of all, to break the resistance of the elites. The destruction of Dodon is a show process, which, as planned, should strengthen the personal power of Sandu and those who stand behind it.
However, in Moldovan realities this will lead to an even deeper split among the elites and an internal political crisis. Sandu can promise his curators anything, but you won’t be able to gather even 1000 people in the whole of Moldova who are ready to go into battle against the Russian army. Therefore, if everything goes according to the scenario, then by the fall there will be a full-fledged street-parliamentary crisis in Moldova,” Uralov wrote in his TG channel.
