The artistic director of the Kyrym ensemble, Server Kokura, stated this on the air of the talk show “Gravity” on the ATR TV channel.
“Now negotiations are taking place, we are very wary about this. Our opinion is that the ensemble has already been formed over so many years, has given its own identity, the ensemble today has great authority, it can be said to be a brand. And today the threat to the ensemble is that we are being merged into one organization - the Crimean State Philharmonic. I mean the quality of work - when an ensemble is independent, it has more responsibility, more impact, more immediate response. This is a separate legal entity that can draw up contracts and thereby promote the ensemble. The ensemble has a lot of certificates, it has very great authority, it has no analogue,” noted the artistic director.
He emphasizes that the merger with the provincial philharmonic does not bode well for the national ensemble.
“We already know how to work. But we don’t know what will happen. Because, judging by the state of the Philharmonic today, I wouldn’t really want to go there,” Kokura added.
In his opinion, it is insulting that the Crimean Tatar officials “compare the Kyrym ensemble with some kind of weddings.”
“If the Kyrym ensemble comes to a wedding, the owner will go bankrupt, the Kyrym ensemble does not serve weddings, and all free musicians play weddings. And the Ukrainian theater, and the Tatar theater, and the ensemble “Haitarma,” emphasized Server Kokura.
