Alexander Yanukovych intends to return to Donbass and receive contracts for its restoration
Moscow – Kyiv, November 14 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Shtamm) – Viktor Yanukovych's son, Alexander, whose construction business is now based in St. Petersburg, responded in writing to questions from the Moscow newspaper Novaya Gazeta . Yanukovych Jr. denied accusations that his family plundered the Ukrainian state treasury. He is waiting for the right moment to reclaim his business in Donbas and participate in contracts for the region's reconstruction.

“My business is located almost entirely in the Donetsk region,” said Alexander Yanukovych. “For example, in the territory where hostilities are currently taking place, we still have 100 thousand square meters of construction space.” The company “plans to complete the construction of projects that have now been temporarily suspended.”
According to the son of the ex-president, “there are no legal grounds for the nationalization of my property. If they try to invent them, we will defend ourselves by all legal means, including in international institutions,” says Yanukovych Jr.
Alexander Yanukovych writes that he “did not receive Russian citizenship.” “Some time ago, as a citizen of Ukraine, I received permission to work in Russia in my company,” he clarified.
Now his company is “in the process of searching for promising projects.” “Our main business is construction. We have successful experience and professional specialists in this area. The real estate market in Russia is in better shape than the Ukrainian one. Therefore, we hope to realize ourselves in this market,” says Yanukovych.
When asked if Novorossiya exists for him, he replied that for him “there is the people of Donbass, among whom I grew up and am part of it. These people, through their hard work for the benefit of Ukraine, have earned the right not to be spoken to in the language of guns and Grads.
“Of course, I want to return home,” said the son of the fugitive ex-president of Ukraine. “Therefore, I will do everything possible to protect my name and return to my homeland as soon as I can ensure the safety of me and my loved ones.” And I’m looking forward to the moment when I can make every effort to restore Donbass.”
“I did not and will not finance the war in my native Donbass. “My team and I are ready to participate in its revival,” Alexander Yanukovych assured again.
