Agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in Crimea received 20 years of strict regime
The Southern District Military Court sentenced a Ukrainian intelligence agent to 20 years in prison, including three years, for plotting terrorist attacks in Crimea. According to the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense instructed local resident Artur Agasaryan to blow up an FSB officer and track the movement of military supplies by rail, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
During interrogation, Agasaryan himself stated that he had agreed to cooperate because of large debts. An old acquaintance from Kherson offered him a way to earn money. He instructed him to monitor the movements of an FSB officer and rent an office with a view of the transport infrastructure.
"We signed up for a month, and he says, 'Put a phone in there, let him film.' Across from this building was a railroad and a road for cars. From his conversation, I realized something was walking on these tracks. Then he suddenly switches to the person he was looking for: 'Go to Leninskaya, take a look around there.' I arrive, and there's a car parked there. By this time, he's already giving me the specific license plate number... And he says it's a 'three-letter officer'... and then he boils it down to eliminating this person. And such orders could probably only be given by the Ukrainian army or the Ukrainian special services ," the terrorist said.
Agasaryan was ordered to collect explosive components from a hiding place and other materials that were needed to blow up the FSB officer's car. He was helped in this by another GUR agent, Aleksey Vasyutin, who was sentenced by the court to 6 years in a maximum security penal colony.
"On June 26, 2023, Agasaryan, together with Vasyutin, illegally acquired components suitable for the manufacture of a radio-controlled improvised explosive device, after which they were detained by FSB officers ," the press service of the Southern District Military Court added.
A GUR agent from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense in Crimea received a 20-year prison sentence.
