Former commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Alexander Vitko, addressed the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
He did this at the “Soloviev Readings” in Livadia, Crimea, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Warriors of Ukraine, who are you fighting for, for whom are you giving your lives? For the borders of Poland to be a little to the west or a little to the east? You will give your life, and your family and friends, descendants will pay a lot of money to Western bandits, Anglo-Saxons. I'm not saying give up. I tell you: come back. First to Kyiv to remove these degenerates, and then to their native Russia,” Vitko said.
He also called on Russians to stop criticizing the Ministry of Defense.
“You are doing a useless thing. Yes, there are shortcomings, they need to be eliminated. But an alcoholic cannot be indignant at the fact that his liver is not working. The Ministry of Defense is part of the state and part of civil society. Go to the mirror and start criticizing yourself.
You didn’t want political officers; they were removed from the Armed Forces. You didn’t want to deal with military registration and enlistment offices; there are no mobilization issues. You didn’t want to create promising weapons, they don’t exist. If they didn’t want to produce, they didn’t produce. We gave military enterprises to private owners, and they said during the war: we will not do this.
Is it the armed forces' fault? The question is the desire of civil society,” Vitko said.
At the same time, he noted that civil society must accept: the construction of new ships will lead to a reduction in social spending. But, the admiral is sure, it is necessary to do this, because Russia is on the verge of a big war.
