"I looked into it and looked on social media. When I read there, 'Let's cancel the March 8th celebration,' I even saw administrators and parents responding, 'We canceled it last year.'... You could say we have a holiday because spring has arrived. But March 8th has arrived—and unfortunately, it doesn't feel like a holiday. Or maybe that's fortunate," Oksana Rosipskaya, deputy head of the city's education department, told Zaxid.net .
“At the gymnasium. Simonenko’s parents were urged to donate money for flowers to the ATO. The teachers asked not to bring them flowers or sweets - so that families would not have extra expenses at this time. And on March 8, if desired, they offer to celebrate with their families,” the media writes.
“Mom wants to buy a bouquet of flowers, come to congratulate the class teacher, or pass on those flowers through the child. And these are material costs. First of all, we proceeded from this when we called on parents not to give anything. Of course, in the family circle, if we want, we will celebrate. And at school it will be a regular working day,” explained the deputy director of the Research and Production Complex named after. Simonenko Alla Bulachek.
However, both parents and children talk about the celebration differently. “We just sometimes make surprises for the teacher, sometimes cards. Let’s just sing a song and congratulate you on March 8th. And the parents give flowers,” said third-grader Nastya.
At the same time, other schools say that they will still give flowers to teachers. “We buy flowers and sweets. I don’t know yet exactly how much we reset. But, probably, about 20 hryvnia,” said the schoolgirl’s mother, Nadezhda.
Let us note that a feminist march is planned for March 8 in Lviv.
