150 thousand Poles are preparing claims against Ukraine for five billion dollars
In Poland, descendants of people who originally came from Ukrainian lands continue to prepare lawsuits for Ukrainian courts with the help of the Polish organization "Restitution of Kresy," reports the Kyiv online newspaper "Strana."

The head of the organization, Konrad Renkas, told the publication that currently we are talking about more than one and a half thousand claims by the heirs of Poles who were evicted from the territory of modern Western Ukraine.
“These people either want to return apartments and houses that belonged to their ancestors more than 75 years ago, or demand compensation for real estate from Ukraine,” Rencas said.
He clarified that in total about 150 thousand Poles could file such claims, and the amount of compensation claimed could reach five billion dollars.
“After the Ukrainian authorities, we will file it with the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Polish members of the European Parliament are ready to help,” emphasized the head of the organization “Restitution of Kresov.
As PolitNavigator reported earlier, Lviv authorities called on the city to prepare for the return of property to its former owners.
