The journalist told how liberal provocateurs from Russia entrenched themselves in Montenegro
Journalist and public figure Veniamin Striga, declared persona non grata by the regime of Milo Djukanovic, told how pro-Western liberal Russophobes settled in this country.
Striga told Balkanist TV host Nikita Bondarev about this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
During a conversation with Russian journalist and social activist Veniamin Striga, who lived in Montenegro for twelve years and was a former activist of the local Russian diaspora, Nikita Bondarev asked why in a state where there is a large percentage of sincere Russophiles, the pro-Western crowd that fled from Russia feels great.
At the same time, Russians who advocated the revival of historical ties and against the takeover of the country by NATO, like Striga himself, were persecuted - at one time, Djukanovic’s regime accused him of being persona non grata and working for the Russian intelligence services (the charge was dropped when the Montenegrin government changed).
“Why did such specific characters as gallerist and liberal political strategist Marat Gelman, as well as various figures directly associated with Open Russia, entrench themselves in fraternal Orthodox Montenegro? – Bondarev asked. “There are more than enough of them there, they feel completely comfortable, they do their own stupid happenings and performances that would make any normal person’s hair stand on end.” And no one ever accused them of anything.”
“Sometimes it makes my hair stand on end, and sometimes all this just causes a feeling of disgust,” confirmed Striga. “Gelman opened a gallery in Orthodox Montenegro, with paintings, one of which, for example, depicts a pile of fat.”
For his part, Bondarev recalled other “achievements” of Gelman and the parties of the “artists” under his patronage back in Russia: chopping icons with an ax, canvases painted, I beg your pardon, with feces.
“Gelman, I’m not even sure that he is a liberal person,” Striga noted. - Because he is his own plan. He is pro-Western - that's obvious. At one time he worked with all the Kremlin parties. Naturally, we have a powerful pro-Western lobby. They say that there are towers in the Kremlin, and one is working in this direction. Let's assume this is true. But then he became objectionable because he pushed his way too zealously.”
According to the journalist, Gelman believed that he would raise million-dollar projects in Montenegro.
“But there was more talk. Scandals, hype - all this was created. He brought the girls who sang nonsense in the temple - Pussy Riot. One of them, by the name of Alekhina, even gave a lecture to the Montenegrin government on how to fight Putin’s policies. In an academic setting. A girl who can barely hold a guitar and doesn’t get into tune,” added the Balkanist TV guest.
