The Zaporozhye “hero of the ATO” saw a witch in his wife and plunged a knife into her chest with the words: “you condemned me”
A resident of Zaporozhye created a happy family before the war. In order to live together, he sold his own apartment. But after the well-known events at Euromaidan, he was drafted into the army. The fighting against civilians in Donbass did not just change the man. They made him a completely different person. Returning home, he realized that the family was falling apart, and went to live with his father.

Trying to maintain at least some kind of relationship, he often visited his wife. So on the day of the tragedy, having agreed in advance, he came in the morning. A week earlier they filed for divorce. He waited until he was alone with her in the apartment, took a kitchen knife, and with the words “You have condemned me,” he plunged the knife first into the left side of the chest and then into the right side. By luck, the blade passed a millimeter from the heart. And the victim was not a timid person. She managed to snatch the knife from the killer’s hands and run out of the apartment to the neighbors.
At first he tried to overtake the victim. And when he failed, he began cutting his arms and neck, imitating a suicide attempt.
A forensic examination showed that at the time of the crime the killer was in a state of “acute alcohol intoxication”; in addition, he suffered from alcohol and drug addiction. And post-traumatic stress disorder was accompanied by a schizophrenia-like behavioral and mental disorder, which in human terms means that the killer considered his wife a witch.
The court sentenced the murderer to only eight years in prison, choosing the minimum penalty under this article. Intoxication was not even considered as an aggravating circumstance.
