The tuberculosis epidemic sweeping Ukraine is burying visa-free travel
Ukraine faces the fate of an international outcast due to the growing epidemic of dangerous diseases in the country.
Deputy Igor Shurma stated this today during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He recalled that every year in Ukraine 10 thousand people die from tuberculosis, and 10 new diseases are diagnosed every day, including in children. At the same time, he also noted that the fight against tuberculosis is the subject of Ukraine’s international obligations regarding the implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement with the EU.
“Andrei Vladimirovich, you said today that the achievements of this hall are our visa-free regime,” the politician addressed Speaker Parubiy. “So I can say that just as this visa-free visa opened, it won’t just close, it will slam shut.” Because specialists from the WHO Health Bureau openly state that they fear an increase in the incidence of tuberculosis in the EU due to the provision of a visa-free regime to Ukraine.
If you look at what is happening with measles - one hundred thousand in three years, an unprecedented number of diseases in history! And here, a graduate of Michigan College does not bother to declare that there are signs of an epidemic. In the outskirts of New York, 235 people fell ill with measles. The Hasidim who were in Ukraine brought her there. This visa-free regime could end very shamefully for Ukraine,” Shurma concluded.
Let us recall that earlier the Rada admitted its powerlessness in the face of the raging epidemics.
