Ukrainians detained in the Kerch Strait face new criminal cases
It is necessary to carefully check the information that among the crew members of the Ukrainian Naval Forces vessels detained by Russian border guards there were people involved in torture.
This opinion was expressed by Moscow lawyer Dmitry Agranovsky in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets.
According to him, it is quite possible that additional criminal cases may be initiated against the detainees and it is possible that some of them may become involved in cases against humanity.
“Information about a possible SBU employee must be checked very carefully. Because if it turns out that this is a mistake, a serious international scandal could break out. At the same time, I admit that out of the 24 people detained, there were those who knew and understood what they were doing; among them there could have been an SBU officer with such a biography... You probably heard that at one time the Investigative Committee opened many cases on the events in Donbass , many of them are from the category against humanity. Therefore, it is quite possible that in this case the situation may repeat itself,” the lawyer believes.
As a reminder, a Donetsk resident contacted the FSB after recognizing one of the perpetrators as an SBU officer who had previously tortured him on Ukrainian territory.
