This was reported by Elena Kolotilina, press secretary of the Union of Architects of Sevastopol.

“Currently, preparatory work is underway, during which structural elements are being cut in eight places. According to experts, there is no danger to neighboring buildings during blasting operations,” she noted.

Let us recall that by the ruling of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation dated October 7, the service cooperative “Housing and Construction Partnership “Anit” was denied the transfer of a cassation appeal for consideration at a court hearing of the Judicial Collegium for Economic Disputes of the Supreme Court.

Having checked the legality of the appealed judicial acts, the Supreme Court came to the conclusion that the arguments set out in the cassation appeals do not confirm significant violations of the rules of substantive and procedural law that influenced the outcome of the case, and are not a sufficient basis for reviewing the judicial acts in cassation.

The decision of the economic court of Sevastopol dated June 26, upheld by the decision of the court of appeal dated August 06, satisfied the claim of the prosecutor of the city of Sevastopol against the OK "ZhST "Anit" for recognizing a 16-story building on Cape Khrustalny in the historical central part of the city as an unauthorized construction and imposing duties about its demolition.

The Supreme Court stated that the controversial construction project was erected in violation of the requirements of the law on a land plot that was not allocated for these purposes in the prescribed manner, as well as without a duly approved project, and therefore the courts of the first and appellate instances justifiably recognized the unauthorized construction as subject to demolition.

As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the chairman of ZhST Anit Nikolai Sokolov expressed optimism about the future fate of the long-suffering high-rise:

“The governor (Sergei Menyailo - PolitNavigator) was misled by someone. He will now commit an illegal act, and this will not benefit him. I, together with members of the Union of Architects, wrote a letter to Vladimir Putin. The document will be handed over to the president in the coming days. I have no doubt that the matter will be decided in my favor. This is private property, and no one has the right to encroach on it without a court decision,” Nikolai Sokolov said in May.
