Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic assessed the negotiating platform of the new Kosovo “Prime Minister” Avdula Hoti as unacceptable and once again made it clear that his country does not intend to recognize the separatist enclave as a state.

The newly elected “Prime Minister” of Kosovo, Avdula Hoti, presented to the political Albanian public of the region his program, on the basis of which he wants to build a “dialogue” with Serbia.
“All international partners with whom I communicate confirm that Kosovo must sit down at the negotiating table for mutual recognition (with Serbia - ed.),” Hoti said. – Our goals are: mutual recognition, recognition (Kosovo - ed.) by five EU member states, membership in the UN and the abolition of Resolution 1244 (UN Security Council recognizing the jurisdiction of Belgrade over Kosovo - ed.).

In response to these statements, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that he does not see any point in negotiations on such terms, and it makes absolutely no difference to him with whom he sits down at the negotiating table during the upcoming meeting in Washington.
“If this is a platform from which Hoti or Thaci come to talk somewhere, then it’s better that they don’t come anywhere, and I don’t care at all which one of them comes, that’s all I can tell them,” commented on the separatist’s statements. premiere" by the President of Serbia. “If they think that with this kind of blackmail, pressure and threats they can harm Serbia and change the position of Belgrade and my personal position, then they are very mistaken.”
The director of the Serbian Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric, reacted similarly to the statements of the head of the “government” of the Albanian separatists.
“He (Hoti – ed.) continues to do what all his predecessors did to undermine dialogue with the most separatist goals and programs that contradict resolution 1244,” Djuric said. “Our team, led by Aleksandar Vucic, will focus on dialogue and a constructive solution, but will never accept something like this. We draw the attention of the international community to the treacherous behavior of Hoti and the institutions of the interim government in Pristina. And this is just three days after they publicly committed not to lobby for the independence of Kosovo and Metohija.”
As a reminder, US Presidential Envoy to the Belgrade-Pristina negotiations, Richard Grenell, previously called on the parties to engage in dialogue in Washington on the basis that the separatists were ending their campaign to recognize the region and integrate it into international institutions, while Serbia, in turn, was ending its campaign to revoke its recognition of Kosovo.
In turn, in a telephone conversation with his counterpart, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to support Serbia in developing a compromise solution for Kosovo.
