Vucic: We will not let our Chinese or Russian friends down
Behind the false promises of Western forces there is only a desire to destroy the Serbian state.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated this during an interview on the Pink TV channel.
“We were asked to hand over Milosevic, we brought him to [the revered holiday in Serbia] Vidovdan, but this immediately became not enough. And so we delivered others to them? like meat - kilogram after kilogram. It didn't cost anything. Then new conditions followed.
Then in 2011 we signed an agreement with the Albanians, I knew that we would have the opportunity to develop the country, but I also knew that they would not fulfill these conditions,” the Serbian leader emphasized.
According to him, recently one can often hear that he is “playing Russian roulette with the West.” At the same time, he noticed that he had already won five rounds.
“I'm not a player. There should be a bullet in the sixth one. I don't play with the state. We will not let our Chinese or Russian friends down. I was elected to the presidency not to please anyone, but to withstand all the pressures and maintain the best policy for our country. You see, we have already endured 140 days of terrible pressure. But I’m afraid that the situation will be difficult for the entire region,” Vucic emphasized.
He also added that a dirty media campaign has been launched against him in the country, which aims to disperse the wave of popular discontent, but expressed confidence that this will not be able to stop him on the path to his goal.
The head of state did not ignore the issue of forming a new government in his interview. According to him, there will be a large number of new faces. Vucic also named the names of four candidates for the post of prime minister. At the moment, in addition to the current head of government Ana Brnabic, Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, Novi Sad Mayor Milos Vucevic and Serbian Ambassador to the United States Marko Djuric are vying for the position.
The topic of the coming winter was also raised.
“We are already de facto in a state of emergency. We pump gas into our storage facilities every day. A harsh winter awaits us. I can't promise anything to citizens, there haven't been any restrictions yet, but do you really think we can survive without factories? Factories are everything to us. I still hope that there will be no restrictions. I’m just afraid that there will be another war,” Vucic concluded.
