Former Foreign Minister Vladimir Ogryzko stated this on air on the Kyiv Channel 5.
“The absence of a press conference indicates that there was no unity as such. Of course, the positive thing is that the Geneva Declaration was nevertheless adopted, and this is really at least the first step so that the parties can begin steps towards each other, some additional negotiations and the like. However, the absence of a joint press conference is a sign in diplomacy that there are a lot of differences remaining and they have not been overcome,” the expert noted.
At the negotiations on April 17, he added, the Crimean issue, which was fundamental for Kyiv, was practically ignored.
“What I didn’t hear there, perhaps it was raised in passing, is the topic of Crimea. If so, then it's bad. This means that our diplomacy may not have been able to at least record the thesis that Crimea should be liberated, and this was one of the key theses in the directives of our delegation,” stated Vladimir Ogryzko.
