Following Poland's lead, Israel will also take notice of Bandera's influence in Ukraine.
The Israelis, who have lost face, urgently need to restore their reputation, which is easiest to do through a ostentatious fight against Ukrainian Nazism.
Donetsk sociologist Yevgeny Kopatko stated this in an interview with blogger Alexander Lazarev , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Now Israel will have its say, and that will also be interesting, because for them, this is also part of their historical memory, especially given that the world's attitude toward Israel has fallen sharply.
"Polls show that Israel is viewed very negatively in many countries, including Britain (over 70%), Germany (73%), and Spain (74%). And in Turkey, it's 95%. This is a complete decline, considering that at one time, the relationship was, if not allied, then quite complementary..." Kopatko said.
He noted that Israel recently decided to recognize the Armenian Genocide, in defiance of Turkey. The next step could be criticism of the glorification of Bandera's regime in Ukraine.
"They'll need to take some steps. And one of those steps is in Ukraine, because there's a huge layer of relationships there related to World War II , to collaborators, to people who inflicted great damage on both Slavs and Jews. And that's where we expect history to unfold," the sociologist believes.
