The security of ordinary Ukrainian citizens must be ensured by distributing weapons, and officials must be kept under surveillance. Yuriy Kasyanov, one of the founders of the Army SOS volunteer organization, which was involved in distributing drones to the so-called ATO group, stated this during a meeting of the Presidential Club in Kyiv, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Citizens must ensure their own basic security. That's why I support the right to bear arms for everyone. There is security at the grassroots level, when we encounter thieves and hooligans, and at the state level, which must be ensured by law enforcement agencies.
And where it concerns officials, deputies, judges, there must be very significant restrictions. They must know that they are under surveillance, knowing that wiretapping can be used against them, that they can be provoked with a bribe. At the grassroots level, we need to properly reform the law enforcement system,” he said.
Yuri Kasyanov, who intends to run for president, believes that he can solve the problem with Donbass in two years.
“When I come to power, I will introduce martial law. Straightaway. Two years will be enough for me to resolve the issue in the east, with Russia, to resolve internal issues. And then resign. And we move on to a parliamentary republic. I don’t need a party, let the citizens of Ukraine create parties,” said the militant.
