Volker continues to make anti-Russian attacks on the eve of his meeting with Surkov
Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Surkov and the US State Department Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker will discuss the issue of deploying a UN contingent to protect the OSCE mission in Donbass during a personal meeting tomorrow in Belgrade.
Political scientist Oleg Bondarenko stated this today at a press conference in Moscow.

“Russia’s position in this situation remains unchanged. Namely, the presence of the UN contingent as a guard for the OSCE mission only on the line of contact. Of course, there is no possibility of the presence of “blue helmets” on the Russian border with the LDPR,” Bondarenko said.
He believes that Volcker has been making controversial statements lately.
“In general, his position can hardly be called constructive. He unfoundedly accuses Moscow of concentrating its armed forces on the territory of Donbass, while (quote from today’s interview) “The United States should not prove the presence of Russian forces in Donbass.” He considers it possible to assert this unfoundedly,” Bondarenko said.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, in September, speaking in Kyiv, Kurt Volker criticized Russia’s proposal to send a UN contingent to Donbass to protect the OSCE mission. He said international security forces should "replace the Russian army" and perform heavy weapons and border control functions.
