The Montenegrin authorities turned out to be as insane as Poroshenko
The scandal surrounding the coup d'etat in Montenegro, which was allegedly prepared by the Russian special services, is being inflated in order to speed up that country's entry into NATO. Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the VF, told reporters about this today.

“They are trying to push for this country’s membership in NATO. All this is done in circumvention of the opinions of their own citizens; no one gives them the floor. There is no referendum. The destructive course of the government of Montenegro runs counter to the interests of the people of this country, and we are bound by centuries-old traditions of ties,” Zakharova said.
She stated that the Montenegrin authorities are behind the information campaign around the “coup”.
“The Chairman of the Government of Montenegro, Mr. Markovic, could not resist joining in and also participating in the use of the thesis that has recently been widely used in the United States and the EU and accused Moscow and certain Russian special services of interfering in the electoral processes in this country,” Zakharova said.
The diplomat emphasized that all these accusations are unfounded.
“Unfortunately, they are broadcast by the media without taking into account the Russian position. It is mentioned in passing and disproportionate to the amount of information that is published. Neither Montenegrin officials nor Western journalists present any evidence that could support the accusations. All this causes serious damage to Russian-Montenegrin relations,” Zakharova said.
