“Power should be closer to the people”: Scientist Maxim Shugaley on the interaction between the government and citizens

Today, on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio broadcast, sociologist Maxim Shugaley voiced the problem of the distance between power and the population.

“Now people are forced to stand in queues, call hotlines, make appointments on certain days. This shouldn't happen."

He also stated that at the moment parliamentarians receive unreasonably high salaries, “essentially not fulfilling their direct responsibilities – representing the interests of voters.”
