Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander: We Cannot Solve the Problem of Russian KABs
The Ukrainian army has not been able to find an effective solution to protect itself from Russian guided bombs.
This was reported by PolitNavigator correspondent Denis Yaroslavsky, commander of the reconnaissance unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the air of the video blog "News Factory".
"Right now, only parity or air superiority can enable us to shoot down carriers. There's no other way to counter the KAB. No matter what anyone says, you can't shoot them down with Patriots... It's a cheap weapon with powerful consequences . And don't forget that they've already tested the KAB-2000, and they have even greater capabilities," says Yaroslavsky.
"Currently, [the KABs] are a major problem that we cannot solve . That's a fact," the Ukrainian Armed Forces commander admitted.
He was asked whether Ukraine could counter Russia with its own KABs, to which he replied that creating them is not a problem, but aircraft are needed, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces “don’t have many carriers.”
