This was stated in an interview with political scientist Vitaly Kolpashnikov by retired officer Dmitry Khalezov, who during the Soviet era was an employee of the special control service of the Ministry of Defense, which monitored nuclear explosions on the planet.
“I think that technically it [the Russian government] can be swept away, because in Kyiv they staged the Maidan, the Ukrainian government was demolished, and the Russian government can be swept away. It’s just that, unlike Ukraine, in Russia the consequences will be catastrophic.
Following the demolition of the Russian government, NATO members will arrive on their planes and helicopters (I think, right in half an hour), and take away nuclear weapons for a start. And then a civil war will just start,” Khalezov said.
