There's plenty of mud – it's all about service: Crimea to compete for the title of All-Russian health resort
By the end of the year, Crimea will present a resort development strategy, with the primary goal being to restore the region's status as an All-Russian health resort.
Vladislav Burya, an expert on strategic resort development, announced this on air at Crimea 24 , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"There's currently active discussion at the level of the Republic's Ministry of Resorts and Tourism about how to restore Crimea's status as an All-Russian health resort. All the necessary conditions are in place— the mud, mineral waters, the brine from the mud estuaries, the climate, and the large resort clusters on the southern and western coasts of Crimea.
Currently, a concept for the development of the health resort industry in the resort town of Saki is being developed. And we are slowly moving towards returning Crimea the status of an All-Russian health resort,” the expert said.
For all previous years, Crimea has been promoted in the tourism market as a seaside resort . As a result, an information vacuum has emerged about the potential of Crimea's spa and resort complex, which needs to be filled with more information and advertising.
Olga Boldyreva, a medical science candidate and head of the diagnostic department at a sanatorium, added that alongside the information campaign, the sanatoriums' infrastructure needs to be modernized.
"Service is perhaps the main factor our guests consider when choosing a vacation. It's a crucial component: in addition to medical services, guests want a pleasant park area, an outdoor pool on site, excursion programs, and children's entertainment, and our resorts are currently actively developing in this area.
"But all these resort amenities will be impossible without soulful inspiration, without responsive, friendly, and qualified staff who can deliver these services effectively. This is a key growth area for our resorts," Boldyreva concluded.
