Sevastopol, February 16 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – The day before, celebrations were held in Sevastopol dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Russians who performed their official duties outside the Fatherland, during which the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Alexander Vitko, in a solemn ceremony presented the Order of the Red Star to an employee of the unit logistics support for the fleet headquarters, internationalist warrior, retired senior warrant officer Fedor Nedelyaev.

This was reported in the fleet information support department.

Nedelyaev was awarded the order in accordance with the Decree of the President of the USSR back in 1991 for performing tasks as part of a limited contingent of Soviet troops in Afghanistan, however, for a number of reasons, the award and documents for it were found in the archives by officers of the Black Sea Fleet personnel department in 2014.

The Black Sea Fleet Commander and members of the Fleet Military Council took part in commemorative events in the Sevastopol “Warriors-Internationalists” park.

By Decree of the President of the USSR of December 19, 1991 No. 3061, senior technician of the motorized rifle company of the 91st motorized rifle regiment of the 40th OA, senior warrant officer Fedor Nikolaevich Nedelyaev was awarded the Order of the Red Star.

From the award sheet signed by the commander of the 191st motorized rifle regiment, Lieutenant Colonel L. Rokhlin:

“On the territory of the DRA since September 1982. He took part in 16 combat operations and in 32 implementations of intelligence data to destroy gangs... In 1984, during the Pandshir operation, he showed examples of courage and bravery... He is worthy of being awarded the Order of the Red Star.
