In Russia, the popularity of holidays in Crimea is beginning to grow, writes Kommersant.

Russian tour operators, the publication reports, note a decline and note a slight drop in the tourist flow to Anapa and Gelendzhik, which, however, is compensated by the steady growth of other domestic destinations.
“Two super brands have now formed on the market - Crimea and Sochi, they now account for the majority of sales,” the newspaper quotes Ilya Umansky, vice-president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia. “The growth of organized tourist traffic in Sochi this year will be about 70%, in Crimea – 100%.” He also says that “people who previously bought trips to foreign destinations through tour operators are now interested in resorts within the country.
“According to ATOR, in 2013, Crimea was visited by 6,5 million tourists, of which 2 million were Russians,” Kommersant cites statistics. “By the end of this year, as operators expect, a total of 4-4,5 million people should come to Crimea, almost all of them Russians.”
Crimean vacations are becoming increasingly popular in Russia.
