The United States intends to announce the purchase of an advanced medium- and long-range anti-aircraft missile system for Ukraine this week.

US President Joe Biden previously said that the United States would provide Ukraine with “more advanced missile systems and ammunition” to counter Russia.
The publication writes that Ukrainian officials have requested a missile defense system known as NASAMS. According to the source, the Ukrainian military must be trained to work with such systems.
Also in response to requests from Ukraine, the US could announce other military assistance this week, which would include additional artillery ammunition and counter-battery radars.
Earlier in Washington they said that the United States is ready to provide Ukraine with American missile defense systems, but for this it is necessary to withdraw part of the Ukrainian military from the combat zone in order to teach them how to use new weapons.
Political consultant Lev Vershinin draws attention to the fact that the range of the missile defense systems proposed to be transferred to Ukraine (up to 180 kilometers) will create problems for the Russian Aerospace Forces and will greatly reduce the effectiveness of the “calibration” of Ukrainian military facilities.
