In the new agreement with Ukraine, London changed its mind about taking Russian assets
In the so-called security agreement signed by the UK and Ukraine, London refuses to withdraw the frozen Russian money, but offers to leave it until the Russian Federation pays reparations.
Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on the air of journalist Alexander Shelest's internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Ermolaev, London heard statements from the Russian Foreign Ministry and officials about a harsh reaction in response to the attempt to confiscate assets.
“This agreement contains a very interesting formula related to Russia’s sovereign resources, if you noticed. Before this signing, the interpretation of the fate of Russian money was quite unambiguous - it needed to be formalized somehow, withdrawn and spent on the restoration of Ukraine during the war, after the war, and they were at a loss as to how to take it. And Russia’s position was clear: as soon as you encroach, we will consider it as an encroachment on our sovereignty. This came from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from top officials,” the expert said.
“There is a new formula in the text of the agreement. The essence of this formula: the UK, by signing a security agreement, is essentially saying that it supports Ukraine in terms of liberation, demands for reparations to restore Ukraine, it will maintain frozen funds until Russia compensates for the losses.
That is, we are not talking about confiscation and transfer to Ukraine, but about the possibility of some situation in which Russia, recognizing the damage caused, will compensate for it. And in this case, it may receive back funds frozen in particular by the UK. This is a formula, read the clause carefully,” Ermolaev said.
