In Minsk they declare that Belarusians are mentally unprepared to join the Union State
Over the years since the collapse of the USSR, the mentality of the inhabitants of Russia and Belarus has changed, and this may interfere with the construction of the Union State.
Gennady Davydko, a member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, announced this at a roundtable in Minsk, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“How to divide within the Union State? What are your concerns? Belarus has specific concerns. Because we are different countries, with different economic and political structures. Moreover, the mentality is already a little different. In Belarus, if someone earns more, it causes curiosity, envy, hostility, but in Russia it is respected. Intolerance is in us. And this is a certain measure of mood.
If capitalization in Russia has reached the constant declared from above, then in Belarus it is still perceived according to Soviet norms: Private owner, capitalist. How can this be harmonized or unified?
In Belarus they are afraid that a co-owner will come to our enterprises and ask why this enterprise has its own sanatorium, its own canteen, and kindergarten. Let's better add a salary, and the person himself will choose where he has a kindergarten, in which sanatorium he will relax.
And people will say: really, let's do it this way. But for this we will cut people. Where they go - who cares - we don't have to think about it. We have people who are actively socially oriented,” says Davydko.
