The number of foreign Ukrainians in Mariupol has sharply decreased
If back in 2015 only a fifth of the population of Mariupol was pro-Ukrainian, then by 2022 such people allegedly constituted the majority.
The editor-in-chief of the pro-Ukrainian propaganda site 0629, Anna Murlykina, who left Mariupol on the second day of the start of the SVO, stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In general, at the beginning of a full-scale offensive, the number of people who supported Ukraine was greater than those who did not. In this statement of mine, I rely not on feelings, but on research. The social survey was carried out by the city authorities of Mariupol; they conducted this sociology constantly, once a quarter, for themselves. They didn't publish it.
However, during one of the interviews, city mayor Vadim Boychenko told me this. When he and the Metinvest team won the elections in 2015, and he came to power in the city, about 80 percent of the people supported Russia, and it was terrible.
I think that this is precisely why he explained his silence in relation to some pro-Ukrainian slogans, statements, distanced himself from patriotic institutions, tried to please his electoral audience,” recalls Murlykina.
However, according to her, in 8 years it was possible to halve the number of Russian supporters and triple the number of non-Ukrainians.
“The latest survey showed a completely different picture. That is, these years, starting from 2014-2015, were not in vain, and about 60 percent of the population of Mariupol supported Ukraine. This is sociology at the beginning of 2022.
I think this is very important. And it is known that a significant part of these people left from mid-March to the end of April, when it was more or less safe to leave the city, but the majority of people who remained were those who, or who cares what flag they live under, as long as they don’t have to leave anywhere “, don’t solve any problems and wait until some strong hand comes and decides everything for you, or bright supporters, admirers of the Russian Federation,” said the propagandist.
