The LPR said it was ready to repel airstrikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Ukraine is ready to use combat aircraft in Donbass.
The official representative of the defense department of the Republic, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, announced this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In Lugansk, they are afraid of airstrikes from the Ukrainian Armed Forces in connection with the planned replenishment of the air fleet of the Ukrainian army with 30 fighters and attack aircraft.
“The commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Colonel General Drozdov, officially announced that the air fleet of the Ukrainian army will be replenished with 30 combat aircraft. We are talking about MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters, as well as Su-25 attack aircraft,” Marochko said.
The Ukrainian media published footage of Ukrainian Air Force exercises, in which pilots of military aircraft and helicopters practice attacks on ground targets, and also participate in exercises to practice interaction with ground forces.
“We doubt that these aircraft will be used only for training purposes, and will not be used again on civilian targets, as was the case in 2014,” the lieutenant colonel emphasized.
He recalled that the use of aviation is prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
“If it is used against the residents of the Republic, the air defense forces of the People’s Militia are ready to inflict significant damage on the enemy,” the military man concluded.
