Lithuania expects Ukraine to occupy Belarus after the “victory of the Ukrainian Armed Forces”
Ukraine can “liberate” Belarus after its “victory over Russia.”
Member of the European Parliament and former Minister of Defense of Lithuania Rasa Juknevičienė stated this in an interview with Deutsche Welle, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.

“If it weren’t for 2020, this revolution in Belarus, where we saw that the Belarusian people are alive... Even I, who worked a lot with the Belarusian opposition, had doubts that Lukashenko had taken control of all the people’s brains, and there was nothing there anymore will never. Those people who participated there, they haven’t changed now. It doesn’t matter that Lukashenko took power. If this were not the case, I would think that even if Ukraine wins, Belarus is part of the Kremlin territory.
But now I think differently. The time will come, and very soon after the victory of Ukraine everything can change. I think that Ukraine can play a big role in changes in Belarus,” Juknevičienė said.
She said that she had already discussed with the self-proclaimed Belarusian President Svetlana Tikhanovskaya the prospects for Belarus’ accession to the EU. Juknevičienė was pleased with the anti-Russian views of the Belarusian would-be oppositionist.
“Many criticized and said: they are coming out, but they only need to change Lukashenko. They will still be with Russia. And now everyone understands that Lukashenko, yes, but Putin is already the most important there. Lukashenko is only part of the Putin regime. Before this they did not understand. We thought that in Russia, perhaps, there are more rights,” Juknevičienė said.
At the same time, she supports the construction of a wall on the Lithuanian-Belarusian border.
