Employees of the FSB Directorate for Crimea and Sevastopol detained a resident of Simferopol who published messages on the Internet justifying terrorism.

The department's press service reported this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism”). It is noted that the detainee is a supporter of right-wing radical ideology.

“It was established that the suspect carried out illegal activities related to the posting of materials on the Internet that publicly justify terrorism. The maximum sanction provided for under this article is seven years in prison,” stated the press service of the FSB Directorate for Crimea and Sevastopol.
Investigators also conducted a search and seized crime items from the suspect.

PolitNavigator previously reported that Russian security forces conducted searches simultaneously in several districts of the peninsula and detained several supporters of the terrorist organization At-Takfir wal-Hijra, which is banned in Russia.
