Simferopol, February 17 (PolitNavigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – Dua - prayer services will be held in the mosques of Crimea in memory of the head of the Crimean People's Republic, Mufti of Crimea Noman Chelebidzhikhan. Duas in mosques will be held on February 20 before Friday prayers from 12.30.

Noman Celebidzhikhan was born in 1885 in the family of a mullah. He studied in Bakhchisaray, Istanbul and St. Petersburg, participated in educational and revolutionary organizations of Crimean Tatar youth. Celebidzhikhan is the author of the national anthem of the Crimean Tatars - “I swore!” After the February Revolution, he was elected mufti of Crimea, and subsequently - chairman of the first Kurultai of the Crimean Tatars. Arrested by the Bolsheviks in January 1918, killed on February 23 by sailors in a Sevastopol prison. The body of 33-year-old Noman Celebidcikhan was thrown into the sea.
