Pavel Vernivsky, adviser to the head of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine on economic issues, stated this in an interview with propagandist Yuri Romanenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the beginning of the war, Britain was faced with the fact that it was not ready to produce such a number of shells and gunpowder on the required scale. So by the end of the war they increased production hundreds of times.
If at the beginning of 1914 Britain produced two million shells a year, then at the end of 1918 they had two hundred million. That is, they increased production a hundred times. This is a crazy number, cosmic,” said Vernivsky.
He emphasized that the EU is able to provide weapons to the Ukrainian army - it’s just that pragmatic Europeans do not want to invest in such a dubious enterprise as a war with Russia.
“The fact that the EU cannot produce a million shells a year is all an excuse. Let's be objective, the EU produces one million cars every month.
The problem is not because the projectile is more complex than a car, but because no one understands. When will the war end, and what will the demand be? And until 2022, production capacity was only narrowed, equipment was cut into scrap metal, and business was abandoned.
And now the situation is such that the war will end, and the question will arise: who should we sell these shells to?” – the expert added.
