A plan to unite churches has been announced in Ukraine. The former consul of Ukraine in Istanbul, now the head of the public organization “Maidan of Foreign Affairs”, Bogdan Yaremenko, put forward his assumption on this matter in his own blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Thus, Yaremenko opposes the ban on the UOC-MP at the official level, since this, in his opinion, will lead to mass protests and a split in society.

“Therefore, it is necessary to create a new Orthodox Church by uniting the existing ones. And the state would have to organize this process. It is clear that there will be dissatisfied people in this case, too, but this will be another story about opposition from church schismatics and Moscow agents to the canonical and officially registered new church institution,” the former Ukrainian diplomat reveals his plan.
