Kyiv, April 18 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The District Administrative Court of Kyiv today considered a claim to ban the Russian Bloc party, whose activities, according to the plaintiffs, are anti-Ukrainian in nature. The initiator of the lawsuit was the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

The position of the Ministry of Justice was represented by the deputy head of the department, Anna Onishchenko, according to whom, the calls of the “Russian Bloc” for federalization are unconstitutional, since the unitary status of Ukraine is enshrined in the Basic Law. The Ministry of Justice also believes that the “Russian Bloc” is inciting ethnic hatred by advocating for the state status of the Russian language, thereby “narrowing the rights of Ukrainian citizens.” Other complaints include the use of the term “Novorossiya,” which a Justice Ministry spokeswoman called “incomprehensible,” “support for Russia’s actions in Crimea and “calls for an illegal seizure of power.”
After familiarizing themselves with the positions of the parties, the court decided to postpone the hearing until tomorrow, giving the defendant’s lawyers the opportunity to fully familiarize themselves with the materials attached to the case.
“What confuses me most is that the body that is supposed to protect the law filed an illegal lawsuit, which is based mainly on assumptions,” Natalia Belotserkovskaya, who represented the Russian Bloc in court, commented on the situation to Navigator.
According to her, there is every reason to believe that “the trial will be ordered.”
