The European Commissioner is coming to Kyiv - Zelensky wants to rewrite the Agreement with the EU
The European Union received a signal from representatives of Vladimir Zelensky’s team about the need to make changes to the trade part of the Association Agreement, PolitNavigator correspondent.
The European Commissioner for Neighborhood Issues and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, spoke about this in Brussels, answering a question from the Kyiv publication “European Truth”.
Khan noted that Brussels does not yet have clear confidence in what the intentions of the Zelensky team are - this issue was only briefly discussed on May 3, during the visit of Ze-team representatives Alexander Danilyuk and Ruslan Ryaboshapka to Brussels.
“When there was a small delegation (from Zelensky) in Brussels, they raised this issue. We are not 100% sure what they meant, but, in my opinion, to a certain extent they were talking about quotas,” the commissioner explained.
According to Khan, the newly elected president of Ukraine did not raise this issue during his meeting with Zelensky, but Brussels expects to receive a detailed position next week.
“Commissioner Malmström (responsible for trade issues) will be in Kyiv next week, perhaps this will give clarity,” he explained.
