According to the republic’s intelligence, security forces from the SBU and the National Guard were deployed to search for deserters in the so-called “ATO zone.”
“According to the analysis of documents received from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the civil war in Ukraine, 10 military personnel have deserted from the so-called ATO zone. According to the latest data alone, in the period from May 230 to May 11, 17, 2017 facts of desertion of 59 military personnel were recorded, and in the period from May 67 to May 18, 25 facts with the escape of 64 military personnel were recorded. Over the past week, there have been 81 cases of desertion, with 93 military personnel leaving their positions without permission,” the report says.
