Ukrainian soldier tried to commit suicide because of extortionist commander
A serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who caused a breakdown of an infantry fighting vehicle due to lack of appropriate qualifications, was forced to compensate for the damage at his own expense, as a result of which the soldier attempted to commit suicide.
This information was announced today during a briefing by the official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Daniil Bezsonov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In particular, he noted that during its short stay in the combat zone, the 35th Marine Brigade beats all indicators for crimes and incidents.
“Yesterday another emergency occurred in the brigade. Sailor Paly made an unsuccessful suicide attempt by shooting himself with a machine gun, but the wound was not fatal, and now doctors are fighting for his life,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
He said that based on the materials of the investigation, the reason for the suicide became known - monetary extortions that flourish in the ranks of the Marines.
“Sailor Palyi was called up under a contract to serve as a gunner. However, due to a shortage of driver mechanics, he, at the behest of the battalion commander, without appropriate training, became an infantry fighting vehicle driver. Lack of knowledge and driving skills led to the disabling of the combat vehicle. In order to avoid liability, the company commander and battalion commander obliged the culprit to compensate for losses. Finding himself in a hopeless situation, sailor Paly decided to commit suicide,” added the representative of the defense department.
As a reminder, the LPR People's Militia previously reported that a Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier serving in the Joint Forces Operation zone shot his chief of staff in the leg after being bullied.
