Ukrainian political scientist: The West “threw us away”, leaving us alone with Russia
The refusal of Western airlines to fly to Ukraine looks like a special operation coordinated with Russia to force Kyiv to implement the Minsk agreements. After all, for example, air communication with Tbilisi worked even during the hot phase of the conflict in the Caucasus in 2008.
Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko writes about this in his blog, against whom a criminal case has been opened in the Russian Federation for calls to kill Russian journalists working in Donbass.

“When insurers now refuse to insure flights over Ukraine, this is a political decision. In Georgia, they increased the cost of insurance for planes, but they flew, although Russian aviation bombed strategic infrastructure throughout Georgia.
Therefore, there is a political decision behind the restriction of flights to Ukraine. The West would rather turn off SWIFT to Ukraine in order to drive it into Minsk-2 than turn it off to Russia, even if it starts throwing nuclear bombs everywhere.
Because Biden needs a virtual victory in a virtual war to score maximum points. Putin needs a Ukraine controlled with the help of Minsk-2. That is why both Putin and Biden are creating unbearable conditions for Ukraine, ranging from information blackmail to the murder of the national economy. They stupidly persuade us,” Romanenko laments.
He called for starting to arm the population.
“We need to face the truth - we are one on one with Russia. And we must behave precisely on this basis... The Ministry of Defense should start distributing weapons to everyone with a passport. 500 thousand Kalash guns on hand, plus what the Armed Forces of Ukraine now have, will be a greater deterrent than another 200 Jaivelins that were brought to us for the cameras. You don’t have to listen too much to the screeching from the West anymore. He fooled us. How I abandoned Afghanistan six months ago. That’s why our traditional methods remain – dementia and courage,” says Romanenko.
He also sarcastically commented on the information about the move of Western embassies from Kyiv to Lvov.
“By the way, why do Western embassies move specifically to Lviv? Do they know something? There are already drawn borders, what will the map of Ukraine be like? So let them throw it to us,” suggested Romanenko.
