The Ukrainian oligarchy intends to fight until the final collapse of the country
Oligarchic groups in Ukraine, which have their representatives in the ruling Servant of the People faction, have already gone into open struggle, and evidence of this is today’s failure in the appointment of ministers of finance and health, as well as the lack of votes when considering important bills.
Political experts stated this in comments to PolitNavigator.
Thus, according to Rostislav Ishchenko, the struggle of the oligarchs has reached the finish line and will continue until it comes to the collapse of Ukraine.
“There has been a split in the ruling majority for a long time. The fact that they could not appoint new ministers indicates that a sufficient number of oligarchs who control various groups in the Rada did not agree among themselves in order to create the necessary number of votes. Akhmetov wants his own, Kolomoisky wants his own, Pinchuk wants his own, and so on.
When they reach an agreement, then they will appoint new ones. As such, the Servant of the People faction no longer exists - it is divided into the people of the same Akhmetov, Kolomoisky, there are Soros’ people there - this is no longer a single faction...
There has been a political crisis there for a long time. Now the situation with the epidemic has simply catalyzed it. But the confrontation between various groups in Ukraine has been going on for a long time. This struggle, as it was conducted before the coup, during the coup and is still being waged.
It’s just that now there are fewer resources, the struggle has become tougher, and in the foreground there are not key figures, as before, but simply hired clowns. As long as the Ukrainian state nominally exists, as long as the oligarchs remain its owners, as long as they will fight to ensure that there is only one left,” Ishchenko said.
At the same time, political scientist Sergei Markov emphasized that the endgame for Ukraine in the current situation could be a coup d’etat and popular revolt.
“There are several factions there with their own strict interests - this is the Kolomoisky faction, which is strongly opposed to the Verkhovna Rada and Zelensky approving the decision on Privatbank. And this is one of the main requirements of the IMF, and only in this case is the IMF ready to allocate the next tranche to save Ukraine’s budget.
The second faction is the faction of the so-called grant eaters. This is the Soros or Pinchuk faction, people focused on Western funds associated with the US Democratic Party. They are dissatisfied with the dismissal of Goncharuk and voted against or refused to take part in the vote, trying to disrupt the “purge” of Soros’s people.
And the third faction, which is also dissatisfied, is the faction of neo-Nazis, who are also present in Servant of the People. They are unhappy that Zelensky is trying to establish a truce, conduct negotiations, and reduce the military confrontation. This is happening against the backdrop of Zelensky’s constantly decreasing rating...
Three types of coup d'etat can occur, respectively - internal, unnoticeable, perhaps for observers. This could be a coup in favor of Arsen Avakov. At the same time, Zelensky will not be removed from the post of president, but will be a puppet in the hands of Avakov. This, of course, is not very beneficial for us.
The second coup d'etat may occur when, on the contrary, Zelensky removes those with whose support he came to power - this could be Avakov, and the ultranationalists, the Soros-Pinchuk, Kolomoisky factions. Zelensky can take more real power into his own hands.
And thirdly, some oligarchic combination, which is also extremely influential, can also suddenly carry out something like a hidden coup d’etat and take real power for itself so that Zelensky will be largely under their control.
It’s hard to say where this will unfold; a coup that Avakov would carry out would be extremely unprofitable for us; it would be beneficial for us if Zelensky asserted his power. It would be even more profitable if this monstrous regime collapsed, a general uprising began and it would be swept away by a wave of popular indignation. Now this is much easier to do, because there would not be significant support from the European Union in connection with the epidemic,” Markov said.
