“According to the investigation, one of the defendants was most interested in the approximate coordinates of the deployment of Ukrainian air defense systems, including Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems. The attackers also went to the sites of the aggressor’s air strikes and photographed the consequences of enemy arrivals there. Hidden photographs were taken from different angles and referenced to the area,” the report says.
It is alleged that after the rocket attack on Cherkassy on September 21 of this year [the hotel was hit], the woman took hidden photos of the damaged building in the city center and “sent them to her accomplice, a Russian citizen living in Kyiv.”

“According to available data, after receiving a “report” with clarifying information about the consequences of the defeat, the Kiev resident tried to leave for Russia. I planned the trip through the territory of the EU as a person of non-conscription age,” the SBU noted.
However, he was detained after he purchased tickets to one of the European countries.
“As the investigation established, the detainee turned out to be a doctor of philosophy, a former teacher at one of the Chernihiv institutions of higher education,” the Ukrainian special service reports.
It is alleged that in 2015 he traveled to Crimea, where he received a Russian passport.

The SBU qualified the actions of the underground under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. It does not say which articles exactly, it is only said that he faces up to 8 years in prison.
