More than 60% of Ukrainians believe that early elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should take place on July 21, regardless of the decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

This is evidenced by the data of a sociological survey conducted by the Sociological Group “Rating”.

According to the survey, 63% believe that if the Constitutional Court recognizes the Decree of President Vladimir Zelensky on the dissolution of parliament as unconstitutional, then elections to the Verkhovna Rada should still take place on July 21, 2019, as stated in the decision of the head of state. 20% say that in this case they should be held as planned in October, and only 7% want re-elections to take place in September.

In the regional distribution of supporters of holding elections on July 21, there are more in the south (71%), relatively fewer in the center (57%).

At the same time, the “Rating” noted that, according to 82% of respondents, the appeal by a group of people’s deputies in the Constitutional Court of President Zelensky’s decree on dissolving parliament and calling early elections is not so much a defense of the rule of law, as an attempt by people’s deputies to extend their powers for at least a few months . Only 9% of respondents have a different opinion on this issue.

Such data were obtained during a sociological survey of the population of Ukraine aged 18 years and older during June 8-12, 2019 using the method of personal formalized interviews (face-to-face). The sample is representative by age, gender, region and type of settlement. Sample population: 2500 respondents. Error in the representativeness of the study: no more than 2,0%.

According to the latest opinion polls, four political parties now have a chance to enter the Verkhovna Rada in the parliamentary elections. The undisputed leader is Vladimir Zelensky’s Servant of the People party, which is supported by about 50% of voters. In second place with a five-fold lead is the Opposition Alatform “For Life”, which has a little more than 10%.
