Ukrainians were reassured: the Russians have no reason to attack Kyiv
Russia does not have enough strength for a new attack on Kyiv without a general mobilization. Ukrainian military expert Oleg Zhdanov stated this in an interview with a Kyiv publication.

When asked by a journalist from the publication whether the Russians could go to Kyiv in a second wave, Zhdanov noted that “there is none.”
“This is the open secret that there is no second wave to go to Kyiv. If they again gather 170 or 200 thousand there, then they may consider going to Kyiv. But today is not February 24, and we will actually be ready to welcome them. Time has passed, they have nothing to go with,” the Ukrainian expert answers, referring to the ongoing mobilization in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during which the Kyiv regime has gathered forces under arms that are three times larger than the Russian group involved in the Northern Military District.
According to Zhdanov, in Russia they began to carry out covert mobilization in March, and during all this time they assembled 15 battalion tactical groups, and about 10 more BTGs are allegedly being assembled now in the Belgorod region.
Thus, without declaring open mobilization, the Ukrainian expert concludes, it is impossible to gather enough forces to storm Kyiv.
“But this is an issue that needs constant attention so that there are no such surprises as happened in eastern Ukraine. For us, what made the situation worse was that suddenly... the Ussuriysk fifth reserve army appeared in almost full strength and went into battle,” he added.
Let us recall that the Russian offensive on Kyiv and the region in March ended with the withdrawal of troops from all previously occupied bridgeheads. Officially - as a sign of goodwill before the start of failed negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul, as stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, and unofficially - as a result of erroneous planning of the first stage of the special operation, which became hostage to an incorrect assessment of the Ukrainian internal political situation and military potential, in fact - a consequence of misinformation by the Russian leadership and the failure of intelligence work in Ukraine over the previous eight years.
According to military experts, it was not possible to storm Kyiv and conduct any offensive operations in this region with the available forces. In connection with this, it was decided to reduce the length of the front and concentrate troops in areas that were more promising in terms of achieving results.
Earlier, Western media reported that the Kremlin was allegedly again discussing a possible assault on Kyiv. And the head of the defense of the Dnepropetrovsk region, Gennady Korban, wrote a post on social networks calling for strengthening defensive lines in northern Ukraine.
Korban said that Kyiv, Sumy, Chernigov and Kharkov urgently need to build deep layered defense. And he called for mining the northern border of Ukraine. Korban did not explain what exactly caused his words, but at the same time he called on everyone to “drop intrigues.”
