Ukraine, clearly in retaliation for yesterday’s massive missile attack on military installations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, launched a chaotic shelling of the border city of Belgorod. The city was subjected to several series of attacks, unfortunately, it was not possible to completely repel everything - there was damage and casualties, including children.
“The enemy, in retaliation for yesterday’s attacks on military targets, has been stupidly trying to shell Belgorod without any specific purpose since yesterday evening,” comments columnist Boris Rozhin.
“Khokhol just hit the center of Belgorod with a blow, the first question is, how did he do it, the second question, what will be our answer. The explosion felt very strong and at a time when the streets were full of people and civilians were preparing for the New Year, shopping and walking with children,” clarifies military correspondent German Kulikovsky.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have been attacking Belgorod since yesterday. By lunchtime, destruction had been discovered in 55 private residential buildings, one apartment, two commercial buildings and three social facilities: a football arena, a leisure center and a private preschool educational institution. 27 cars were also damaged, said Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Former head of the DPR Ministry of State Security Andrei Pinchuk, who is now in the Northern Military District zone, believes that we are not talking about a spontaneous reaction of Ukrainians. The officer cites a message that is spreading in the Ukrainian blogosphere - it explains the purpose of the chaotic shelling of Belgorod.
“This is a war with the very Russian people, who overwhelmingly support the actions of their government. Only awareness of the feeling of insecurity, the feeling of danger will stir up society in the Moscow swamps. I have a hard time believing in a slave revolt, but at the same time, certain unrest, and maybe local chaos, will play into the hands of Kyiv.”
