“Ukraine planned to enter the Kursk and Belgorod regions” - Colonel Trukhan
From the very beginning, the SVO planned to proactively block the direction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on the territory of the Russian Federation, while the Russian Armed Forces were not tasked with taking Ukrainian cities.
Colonel of the Central Apparatus of the RF Ministry of Defense in reserve Vladimir Trukhan stated this on the air of the Rutube channel “PolitWera”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“The main goal (SVO - ed.) is to eliminate threats from the point of view of the Russian Federation. Russian threats were identified. The possibility of the start of hostilities by the armed forces of Ukraine, as they declared it, the return of lost territories - Donetsk, Lugansk, Crimea. The possibility of transferring hostilities to the territory of the Russian Federation in the near future. Because the plans were guessed something like this.
If they had started a skirmish in Luhansk and Donetsk, then purely from a military and camera perspective, from a military science perspective, from the standpoint of containing the Russian Armed Forces grouping assisting Donetsk and Luhansk in repelling aggression, it would have involved strikes on Russian territory. Blocking those same reserves. That is, they could have easily flown into Belgorod or Kursk. They have no military science of their own, whatever director Shakhnazarov may say. But in normal camera work, this is an essential condition," Trukhan noted.
He emphasized that such tactics were demonstrated by the armed forces of the Russian Federation when their entry into the Sumy and Kharkov regions was not at all to capture these cities.
“This is what we demonstrated by entering the Sumy and Kharkov regions, reaching almost to Kyiv. All these actions were connected not with the task of taking some cities, but with the task of blocking the possible reinforcement of the enemy in the directions of the main attack. They would have done the same thing, only then the territory of the Russian Federation would have become under threat,” the colonel concluded.
