Ukraine threatens to upgrade its SU-27s to the level of Russian ones
Modernization of the SU-27 fighters in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces will expand their capabilities to the level of newer fighters of the Russian army. Sergei Zgurets, director of the information and consulting company Defense Express, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Next year we will begin modernizing the SU-27 fighter jets according to version 2. When in past years we were engaged in extending the service life of this aircraft, our aircraft saw the enemy closer, and our missiles hit the enemy closer than what is in service with Russian aviation today .
Next year we will begin modernization by installing new radar stations and new weapons on SU-27 aircraft. We will actually be equal to the capabilities of Russian aircraft, which were developed at a later time,” said the Ukrainian military expert.
