Baloga prophesies the status of Karabakh for Donbass and threatens to lose its rights
Donbass will become an analogue of Nagorno-Karabakh for Ukraine – a frozen conflict for decades.
This was stated on the air of the NewsOne TV channel by Alena Yakhno, assistant to the Verkhovna Rada deputy and Transcarpathian oligarch Viktor Baloha, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to her, resolving the conflict requires political will, which is currently lacking, and therefore Donbass will become a region without status in the coming years.

“Nobody has much hope either for these Minsk negotiations or for the documents that we are adopting. Everyone understands that the solution to this issue must be political and will not happen in the near future... In order to reintegrate these territories and restore them, colossal funds are needed, which Ukraine does not have. I don’t see now how to get out of this situation in the near future. I think that Russia must, in any case, compensate for the damage it caused there... This situation will not be resolved in a year, not in two. It’s like we will have Karabakh. Neither peace, nor war, a land without status,” Yakhno said.
At the same time, she emphasized that even if the Donbass republics ever return to Ukraine, their population will be deprived of civil rights.
“Even if there is talk about the reintegration of Donbass, even if funds are allocated for its restoration, a whole series of measures are needed there. Firstly, citizens who welcomed the entry of Russian troops, they should be disenfranchised, collaborators. I think they won’t be able to vote for at least five years,” Yakhno hopes.
As PolitNavigator reported earlier, Moscow warned that Kyiv should not expect peace without special status for Donbas.
Ridus wrote that the conflict in Donbass is recognized as one of the deadliest since the Great Patriotic War.
Baloha predicts the status of Karabakh for Donbass and threatens to disenfranchise it.
