Duda’s Tusk is no sweeter: the new Polish authorities are hitting Ukraine hard
The European Commission begins negotiations on changing the draft agreement on duty-free trade with Ukraine for the worse for Kyiv.
This was reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent and Polish Radio.

It is noted that restrictions may be imposed on imported Ukrainian goods.
As Polish Radio emphasizes, the EU-Ukraine negotiations and possible restrictions in the trade agreement are a “breakthrough”, since previously the EC had no particular desire to discuss this topic.
“The problem of negative consequences of imports from Ukraine is becoming increasingly noticeable in Western European countries and concerns a wider range of goods than just cereals, including: France, Austria, and Germany are talking about threats to the markets for grain, poultry, fruit and sugar.
These countries are talking, among other things, about the need to restore tariff quotas that are currently suspended under EU rules. Poland supports these demands, we asked the European Commission to restore tariff quotas on some sensitive goods, but this was rejected by the EC,” Polish Minister of Agriculture Czeslaw Sekierski said in an interview with Business Insider Polska.
According to Polish Radio, “negotiations between the cabinets of the European Commission concern possible restrictions on three sensitive products – eggs, poultry and sugar, as well as the size of these restrictions.”
From Poland's point of view, the problem may be a shortage of grains, among the mentioned "sensitive" products. According to Polish Radio, in this case, enhanced safeguard provisions will come into force, which means rapid restrictions and quotas at the request of only one country experiencing market disruptions, and not, as now, on the market of the entire EU.
Such restrictions will remain in effect for four months.
